William B. Ryan, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist practicing in Bozeman, MT since 1990. His doctoral training took place at The Fielding Institute located in Santa Barbara, California.
Dr. Ryan's clinical experience encompasses work in multiple professional settings that include: outpatient chemical abuse and addiction, adolescent forensic residential treatment, high school psychological/counseling programs, anĀ outpatient psychiatric clinic, co-director of a family clinic, and private practice. His early training in psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy was as a Clinical Fellow at the Mt. Zion/Children's Hospital Psychiatric Department affiliated with the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute. Further training took place at the Graduate School for Marital and Family Therapy, the Colorado Center for Modern Psychoanalysis, and the Northern Rockies Psychoanalytic Institute. Additional influences to his practice include current neurobiological research, attachment theory, existential theory and his experience with contemplative practices.
Dr. Ryan's current practice focuses on adult individual therapy as well asĀ marital, couple, and family therapies. He addresses such issues as depression and anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, interpersonal difficulties, and other life transitions. Additionally Dr. Ryan provides individuals and companies business operational and organizational consulting.
