Michael Schacter, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral resident at Big Sky Psychological Consortium, working under the direct supervision of Drs. McKinnie and Ryan. He completed his doctoral training at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, WA and his pre-doctoral internship at Montana State University (MSU) Counseling and Psychological Services in Bozeman, MT. His clinical training at MSU, WSU, and the University of Idaho focused on providing individual, couples, and group therapy services, crisis and substance use interventions, and adult LD/ADHD assessments to both traditional and nontraditional students. Additional training occurred at Washington State Penitentiary, where he provided psychological evaluations to help determine offenders’ mental health and placement needs. Prior to graduate school, he worked with underserved individuals experiencing mental health crises at a residential hospital diversion program.
Dr. Schacter provides culturally sensitive individual therapy services to adults and adolescents as well as couples therapy to romantic partners.
